The League of Gentlemen TV series review

(originally published on Dooyoo several years ago about the first series)

I thought the phrase “ground-breaking” had fallen into disuse as a method of describing comedy. The ground has been well trodden. Vertical Limit review

Despite some poor critical reviews regarding the plot and acting, I thought Vertical Limit was great. This is an action packed adventure film set on K-2, which is the second highest mountain in the world and one of the toughest peaks to climb.

Unbreakable review : Ultimately disappointing

I was expecting this to be a great film. The trailer had promised something special, something dark, supernatural and thought provoking. The cinema was packed, and I sat confidently in my seat.

O Brother, Where Art Thou? review : Different, funny, bizarre

Originally published on Dooyoo.co.uk

This is an unorthodox comedy, which I found very refreshing. It’s written and directed by the Coen brothers (Joel and Ethan) who are renowned for being dark and surreal. Here they’ve supplied a diluted and commercial version of their unique style, which should make them accessible to a bigger audience than before.

Nutty Professor II: The Klumps review : Outrageously funny

Originally published on Dooyoo.co.uk

I found this a very funny film. I had to wipe away tears of laughter at times and saw a few others do the same. If you fancy lots of good belly laughs, and are prepared to forfeit your right to a plausible plot, then this is a film you should enjoy.
