Dead mouse in loaf of bread

Don’t look at this picture if you are squeamish. I must admit it’s not a pleasant sight – and I think mice are quite cute (when alive and not decomposing). This must have been a nasty shock. The mouse was, “embedded in the base of the bread” so imagine if he hadn’t looked at the bottom and just started to use the loaf? He might have had half the tail before noticing..

Help choosing your appliance

Research white goods appliances as well as most other consumer goods and issues and read the latest reviews and best buy recommendations. Which? Online offer a 30 day trial - Reviews of 190 washing machines including over the top performing Best Buys.

As a member myself I wouldn't buy any major product without consulting Which? first. Mind you, I like to think Whitegoodshelp is also a good resource for researching white goods :-)

Piano playing cat (Nora)

I just found one of those, “and finally” news items pioneered by a ITN on the BBC News website about a piano playing Cat named Nora who has found fame on the Internet. A Lithuanian conductor contacted her owners after seeing the video which led to him creating a four-minute piece for the Klaipeda chamber orchestra, which was performed with a video of Nora the piano playing cat in the background.

I must admit to have been enamoured by Nora’s subtle and gentle style. I also found it very inspiring :-)

Has Wallace got a new voice in Wallace and Gromit?

I just watched a video showing a short animation of Wallace & Gromit but I think the voice sounds different. It sounds more like someone mimicking him (reasonably well) but that’s not Peter Sallis – is it?

I spent 10 minutes trying to find any reference to Wallace having a new voice and couldn’t find anything on Google. I would have thought that would have been news. Maybe they are hoping no one will notice?

Peter Sellers recites Beatles lyrics in Shakespearean style

A weird idea, but somehow it’s beautiful.

Dan Osman: Speed rock climbing

This is pretty impressive, and pretty dangerous. Dan was later to tragically die in an extreme free fall jump tethered to a rope, which went tragically wrong.

On the documentary I saw this on it was said normal rock climbers usually take about 3 hours to climb this rock and Dan does it with no equipment in 4 minutes.
